New addition to the family

Here is the new addition. She's part Australian Shepherd and part... well we were told Collie but I think the other part is actually Border Collie. After getting relatively no help naming her from Lagenna I decided to name her Millie. The story of how I got to this name is actually interesting. When my mom sent me these pictures and I first saw her I thought she looked like a big marshmallow because she is so white and fluffy. So going off that I thought about naming her Mel but Lagenna didn't like that because the name was too gender neutral. So I thought about Melly but I didn't like that so I changed it to Millie and it stuck! Something else interesting, my folks still have the dog because we haven't went to pick it up yet and I told Mom we wanted to call her Millie, but I meant with a y instead of an ie but Mom posted pictures on facebook with it spelled with the ie... so that's how she got her name spelled that way... anyway... say hello to Millie!!!

24 weeks!!!!!

Ok, 24 weeks down 16 to go. It's weird we're on the downhill slide now. Have to get serious about going and buying baby stuff... it'll be here before we know it! The picture is before we went to the 24 week appointment. She's doing good. In about another 4 weeks they'll look again to see if they can tell what the sex is of the baby! After last time though I'm going to be prepared that our onery little baby will just keep making us wait. Anyway, Lagenna is still doing a great job and now that the weather is warming up have started going on walks... so that's always fun!

More snow...

Well we got more snow!!! Hopefully this will be the last of it for awhile. While I enjoy the snow and all, once it starts getting into the 70's I'm ready for it to stay there. Thankfully this only stayed around for about a day then it all melted. Still inching back towards 70 degrees... should be there soon. The best part was that we got all this snow on the day Spring officially started!!!

Beginning of the 23rd week... I think

I'd have to double check the calendar but I think this is around the beginning of the 23rd week. We came to B.ville to see Mom and Dad and Lagenna had on her nice Sunday church clothes so we decided to take a picture. Other than that not a lot to tell.

Our first big baby gift!!!!

Now that we're over half way there lots of family members have started wanting to buy us baby stuff. We've received some things like bibs and outfits but this was the first furniture item we got. I hear talk of strollers and carriers too!!! We're so lucky to have family around us that are so willing to give!

Another day another picture

Here is Lagenna at 21 weeks, just a week after the last picture. We were on our way to Nebraska Furniture Mart to buy our crib!!! We also went to Los Cabos and a Motherhood maternity clothing store at the Legends Mall.

And the verdict is...

Well we went to the doctor on Feb. 24th, that's when Lagenna was around 20 weeks. We were planning on finding out the sex of the baby. I took off work early and made sure I was in town and not away on business so I could be there to find out... and what do you think happened? The baby didn't cooperate! Oh he or she is grounded buddy!!! :-) Well not really of course. It was still really amazing to see our child for the first time. While we were watching the screen we saw it open and close its mouth and Lagenna said it was moving and making a fist with its hand!

They said everything looked good, that it looked healthy and it's heartrate was where it was supposed to be. So even though we didn't find out we are still extremely grateful that it's all going well and that whichever it is... it is healthy!!!

They'll look again in about 7 weeks from the date of this post... so maybe then we'll find out. One way or another we'll find out, whether it's in 7 weeks or 19 weeks!!!!

Baby clothes

Here are some baby clothes we purchased. We suspect it's a girl although we have no proof. We figure if we're wrong we'll just return them and get boy outfits. I picked out the one on the left, I said it'd make our daughter look like a cupcake! :-)
Here is Lagenna at around 20 weeks. Progressing nicely I'd say!

Breakfast in bed

This was Valentine's Day morning. I got up and made breakfast for Lagenna and brought it to her in bed. We didn't have a lot in the kitchen so I made due with what we had.

Reboot - part 2

Here is Lagenna at 16 weeks. This picture was taken to prove to her that she wasn't getting too large. She was panicking that she was getting too large too quickly. I assured her that she wasn't... when that wasn't enough, I showed her pictures of other women at 16 weeks and she relaxed. Anyway, as you can see she's just starting to show!

Reboot

Since I haven't used this in over a year, I decided to use it for something more useful. This will now show pictures and provide updates to Lagenna's pregnancy.

So to catch up, Lagenna is 21 weeks pregnant. Here is what's been happening in our lives so far:

This was taken right after Christmas. In Lagenna's hands is a correct representation of what the baby looked like at that time. She was around 12 weeks along.

Here are a few pictures from the snow we got this year... just one of the storms mind you! Not much to do on days like that except stay indoors and try and stay warm.
